Published: 23 April 2019

PDT’s Corporate team has advised KAMIC Group AB on its acquisition of Distec Limited.

"This was a strategically important deal for KAMIC, and it was great to have the PDT team on board. Andrew and Rosie ensured this deal ran smoothly from beginning to end. We would not hesitate to recommend them and look forward to working with them again"

Petra Freimark Thell, CFO, KAMIC Group AB

Swedish based KAMIC Group AB (KAMIC) is a corporate group consisting of more than 20 companies active in trade, product development and manufacturing and is present in 12 countries throughout Northern Europe, Asia and the USA. The acquisition of Distec Limited builds upon the presence of the KAMIC within the UK.

Founded in 1992, Manchester-based Distec Limited (Distec) has built an enviable reputation in its niche arena of specialist signage products. It provides technological solutions to blue chip customers in the industrial, medical and digital sectors (among others) across the UK and Ireland. Distec differentiates itself with a collaborative approach that allows customers to take products on loan, test them in real life environments and ensure they are appropriate for the customer’s application. Distec’s diverse range of products includes touch screen monitors, medical computers, digital signage and mounting solutions.

Andrew Hoad, Corporate Partner at PDT commented “Following on from the recent acquisition of SIGA Electronics, PDT were delighted to be able to assist KAMIC once again, and we wish them every success in taking the business forward.”.

Rosie Haines, who led the PDT team, said “It was a pleasure to work with Petra and the whole team at KAMIC on this occasion. The acquisition futher expands KAMIC’s presence in the UK technology industry. We are confident that Distec will grow from strength to strength with KAMIC’s input.”
