PDT’s corporate team has advised the shareholders of A J Mobility Limited, a specialist provider of wheelchair and mobility aid products and services, on a management buy out. The management team was backed by WestBridge Capital.

"I’ve had experience of corporate transactions in the past and managing a business and a sale process at the same time is very challenging. The team at PDT helped me enormously and I really valued their advice and guidance throughout the process. Rebecca was a star, as always, and Mark and Sian put in a ton of work to get the deal over the line. PDT are excellent value for money!"

Martin Dixon, A J Mobility Limited

AJM has more than 30 years experience in providing mobility equipment solutions to the NHS, local authorities and consumers. It employs more than 150 staff and provides services to more than two million people. Martin Dixon, who acquired the business in 2008, has spearheaded the business over the past 10 years growing and developing its services and customer base. The management team, led by Mark Perress, in partnership with WestBridge, plan to build on that legacy with significant expansion of the range of services offered.

Noel Ruddy, Head of Corporate said “We acted for Martin when he acquired the business so it’s a delight to see him realise the investment and effort he has put into the business over the last ten years. Martin will go on to pursue other business interests safe in the knowledge that he has left AJM in great hands and we wish Mark Peress and the management team every success.

Rebecca Glazebrook, who led the PDT team, said “I am really pleased to see the shareholders realise the value of their hard work. The deal required a significant amount of legal, commercial and financial contribution, but with our experience and expertise, we were able to guide the shareholders through and ensure a smooth process.

The shareholders were advised by corporate partners Noel Ruddy and Rebecca Glazebrook, assisted by Mark Diamond (Corporate), Sian Webber (Corporate) and Elise Sherwell (Real Estate).
