PDT has advised the shareholders of Atomwide, a company specialising in IT and ICT solutions for the education, local authority and regional broadband consortia sectors, on its sale to AdEPT Telecom plc in a deal with a potential value of more than £25m.

"PDT helped turn what I feared would be a very dry and tedious process into something interesting with clear and concise advice and guidance. We were delighted with the support we had from the team and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again."

Martin Coulson, Atomwide

Founded in 1987 by Martin Coulson and Mandy House, Atomwide has become a leading supplier of managed technology services to schools, local authorities, and private enterprises. It is the main provider of IT services and communication support for London Grid for Learning which supplies information and technology services to around 3,000 schools in London.

AdEPT, an AIM-listed company that has over 20,000 customers across the UK, provides telecom services to the government, health and education sectors. Atomwide will now be able to provide a greater range of services to its existing and new customers.

Noel Ruddy, head of corporate, said “We thoroughly enjoyed working with Mandy and Martin and the team at Atomwide. It was clear very early on in the process that Atomwide was a great fit for AdEPT. We are delighted to have been involved in closing such an important deal and congratulate all the parties involved.”

Rebecca Glazebrook, who led the team at PDT, said “We were delighted to help Martin and Mandy sell their company. The parties worked together collaboratively dealing with some knotty issues by providing pragmatic solutions. We wish Mandy and Martin success in their futures”.

The shareholders were advised by PDT Solicitors and Wilkins Kennedy provided corporate finance and tax advice.
