PDT’s corporate team is recognised in The Legal 500 and Chambers UK
Published: 28 October 2021
We’re delighted to announce that the recently published 2022 edition of Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 has recognised our specialist corporate and commercial team as a leading firm in the new rankings. This is a significant achievement for the team and is a great reward for their diligence and dedication over the last year.
Our corporate and commercial team achieved this new higher ranking as a result of their extensive portfolio of work advising on M&A, private equity and asset-based lending transactions. In the twelve months since the first lockdown, our team completed over 30 transactions including the sale of Advantedge Commercial Finance to eCapital Corp; the investment by Phoenix Equity Partners in Setfords Law; the sale of Calverton Finance and Regency Factors to Cubitt Trade Holdings; the sale of Bamboo Distribution to Rubicon; the sale of Fitii to Evercommerce and the acquisition of a pharma services group by a US acquirer. We also recently completed the sale of a substantial UK food service business to private equity and an investment by Business Growth Fund in accident repair business, AD Williams.
In the course of their research, we were described as a ‘strong corporate commercial team with excellent knowledge of cross-border transactions and complex M&A deals. Excellent advocacy and tenacious negotiators’. Noel Ruddy, who co-leads the practice in Horsham with Rebecca Glazebrook, was noted for his particular expertise in finance matters being ‘very commercially and practically focused ensuring that key issues were not missed or forgotten as part of the legal drafting’, whilst Ian Lindley, who heads the commercial team, was recognised for his considerable experience handling GDPR, IP and insolvency matters. Rebecca Glazebrook was noted as being a ‘..stand-out partner who combines encyclopaedic legal knowledge with deep transaction experience. Bringing her tenacious negotiating skills to every discussion, she is an excellent advocate for her clients’.
We are also delighted that, for the second year running, Noel has been recognised by The Legal 500 as a leading individual for both his corporate and asset-based lending practice areas, and Rebecca and Ian have been singled out as recommended lawyers.
As further acknowledgement of their position as leading experts, Noel and Rebecca have been also been recognised by Chambers and Partners as Band 2 ranked lawyers for their corporate M&A practice.
Rebecca Glazebrook commented “We are grateful to all our clients and professional contacts for their kind words about the PDT team. We approach deals in a collaborative manner, working closely with clients and other professionals to provide seamless advice and solutions to issues to get deals done. Whilst these recognitions are for individuals, they would not be possible without our outstanding team who always go above and beyond to ensure that we are able to deliver when needed. I would thank them for their hard work and professionalism over what has been a challenging year."
