Spotlight on our newest trainee solicitors, Sian Walker and Victoria Jackson
Published: 03 January 2020
For the New Year we would like to introduce our newest trainee solicitors, Sian Walker and Victoria Jackson, who joined us in September on the PDT trainee programme.
Sian’s first seat is in our Property Litigation Team and Victoria in our Commercial Dispute Resolution team. They are now halfway through their first seats.
"After 3 months in my litigation seat I’ve had the chance to work on a range of litigation matters including debt disputes, mediation, issuing proceedings and following them through to trial, bankruptcy hearings and been a part of a number of clients meetings and conference calls. I have felt very welcome and supported since I joined PDT and feel I’ve been given a lot more responsibility as a trainee since my paralegal role. I’ve gained confidence over the last 3 months and I look forward to 2020 at PDT."
Victoria Jackson, Trainee
The PDT Solicitors training programme not only fulfils the formal ‘on the job’ training requirements but also helps our trainees decide which area to specialise in, preparing them to be confident, effective solicitors at qualification. The trainee programme runs over two years, with the trainees usually completing four different seats rotating between our Company Commercial, Real Estate and Dispute Resolution teams.
They have joined our other trainee, Kieran Cummings, who is currently seated in our Corporate & Commercial team.
A number of our partners started their careers at PDT and we view our trainees as valuable assets to the future of the firm. In return for their hard work, we offer our trainees the opportunity to get broad, multi-discipline experience working with clients and they are a valuable member of the team.
To find out more about our trainee programme, view our application deadlines and watch videos from past trainees on their trainee experience please visit the PDT careers website. We are now recruiting for the 2022 intake.
