Negotiating a lease in the midst of the pandemic

PDT client Coffee Cup Solutions Limited recently took the bold step to proceed with a relocation of its main office and a new medium term lease of premises when many in the industry have been putting the stoppers on.

Having now moved in we explore what the thinking was behind the decision and the company’s hopes for the future…

With the help of PDT, Coffee Cup Solutions Limited has recently successfully negotiated and completed on a new lease for its main offices, with negotiated terms acceptable to both parties.

Coffee Cup Solutions are an IT company that specialise in fully managed solutions and end user computing and networking, assisting multiple large financial and legal practices.  Hayden Trott, Managing Director said “I was referred to PDT by a good friend who has used the firm across a number of their departments for some years and was not disappointed.  PDT Solicitors were excellent throughout the process. During the peak of the crisis Craig was available on the phone to answer all of my questions and concerns, always offering extremely useful and well thought through commercial advice in addition to advising on the legal aspects.  I look forward to working with PDT in the future and would happily recommend their services to any of my contacts looking to engage to a commercial property lease”.

On commenting on his hopes for the future, Hayden added “We hope that lessons have been learnt and where possible business embrace flexible working.  I’ve had so many positive conversations with clients about the additional time they have spent with their families rather than sitting on the commute to the office, and as end user specialists, we’re here to assist every step of the way!”

Craig Burton, Partner at PDT said “It was a pleasure working with Hayden, who was a referral from an existing client. As a result of the current climate and the lockdown measures in place, the lease negotiations were not without their difficulties (with refurbishment works and compliance certificates delayed or unavailable and revised terms being sought on both sides as matters progressed), but we are delighted to have been able to deliver on Hayden’s requirement and are confident the premises will form a strong base for the company to develop and grow as the economy battles back to pre-Covid-19 performance.”

In response to the crisis PDT Solicitors have launched a Covid19 legal advice hub which provides legal advice and important updates to help you navigate the ever-changing government guidelines and policy as the pandemic develops.
