PDT Junior Fee Earners Forum

The PDT Junior Fee Earners Forum is a group of junior fee earners who have all been through a similar experience of training/qualifying into the legal sector who provide each other mutual support and guidance.

An internal support system

The Junior Fee Earners Forum is made up of Paralegals, Trainees, CILEX and NQ Lawyers at PDT.

The group was formed as an internal support system and a safe space to check in with each other, connect and share experiences and advice. It is a place to build relationships with others who are at a similar stage of their career so they can encourage each other as their careers develop.

The group discuss shared experiences as well as tackling common themes across departments and improving the training experience.

They do this by:

  • Providing a space to talk openly for junior fee earners (NQs/CILEX/Trainees/Paralegals).
  • Identifying specific areas of work where junior fee earners may need additional support
  • Having meetings every 6 weeks to maintain peer relationships
  • Ensuring that confidentiality is maintained when sharing experiences

What is good for the junior fee earners is good for the firm, now and in the future

The forum has proved to be particularly successful in bringing our junior lawyers together and created strong support networks across the firm. They have had many successes in improving life for junior fee earners at PDT, including creating a suite of documents to help improve the PDT Trainee Programme.

The forum has increased confidence of its members, encouraging each other to become more involved in other areas the PDT Experience such as TIDE, PDT Future Leaders and the PDT Management Steering Group the HUB.

The forum also provides opportunities for members to progress onto mentoring new junior fee earners as their career's progress.

All paralegals, trainees, CILEX and newly qualified lawyers within PDT are invited to be part of this group.
